Role of the woman
Different facts have affected the woman in Cambodia, among them are:
-
The schools were not available for the girls in Cambodia: Today the 19% of all the cambodian students are women
-
It was considered that the women had to stay at home doing works of housewife: the old generatios thought that the place of the women were only the kitchen and the house to take care of the children
-
Irresponsible parents: 30% of all woman are single mothers because it often happens that a man leave his wife and children and does not return
-
Old traditions: It has influence in religion. The women are not allowed to touch some items because is a prediction that something bad could happen. It’s one reason why girls are often compared to a ball of wool, while boys are compared to a diamond.
"The background to this comparison points to the fact that a diamond is much easier to clean than a ball of wool when they both fall into the dirt. It means that, if a woman does not live up to expectations it is normal, just like the dirt on a ball of wool, whereas a man, like a diamond, can be cleaned and will look like new again, in other words, everything is forgotten."
Nowadays, through intercultural dialogue and globalization, especially among the younger generation, things have changed a little and the solutions are still in progress, the results are not totally visible yet.

Possible solution
The solution for this social issue would be the introduction of policies focused in help the women, giving them a percentage in public jobs and creating a subsidy for those who have to be single mothers

Weak judiciary system
Efforts to establish an independent judiciary have been considerable for over a decade but have not yet achieved hoped-for results. The judiciary remains corrupt, inefficient, and mostly controlled by the ruling party CPP. Flagrant violations of human rights by state agents have been identified but prosecutions have been rare.
Arbitrary arrests are also practiced by the CPP government using a politically controlled court as a mean to strengthen its grip on power.
As well as in a tyranny, the politic party in the power eliminates any type of opposition in their wish of continue as the leader in the government of Cambodia as the only possible option
Possible solution
A solution to this problem runs, small groups are discussing the models that the judicial system needs to set limits on the abuse of power and the corruption. Besides, the international organizations have an important influence to stop this legal crisis, they could propose a deal with the CPP to create a democratic election of the governors and try to regulate the violation of human rights inside the country
